This coffee comes from the Monte de Oro farm, located at 1600 meters above sea level in the heart of the Acatenango Valley, on the hills of Balam Juyu. It is the excellent fertility of the soil that inspired the name of the farm “Monte de Oro”.
Mario, from mechanical engineering, makes it a point of honor to reduce the use of water in his processes and the cherries are harvested at perfect maturity because he controls their sugar level by measuring the Brix degree.
When you go to Monte de Oro, you have the impression of going to the end of the world. The farm is located in the Acatenango Valley, on the hills of Balam Juyu at 1600 meters above sea level and to reach it the last two hours of driving are on dusty tracks crossing tiny villages isolated from everything.
Once arrived, one can only fall in love with this extremely well cared for finca and the feeling of peace that emanates from it. We admire the two volcanoes on the opposite slope, they dominate the landscape, smoking, and their frequent eruptions punctuate the days and color the nights. We immediately feel the micro climate described by Mario, because the farm is located above a canyon where hot and cold air currents intersect. Monte de Oro takes its name from the excellent fertility of the soils on which it is located.
Initially in mixed farming, the farm gradually intensified its coffee production to become the only production to date. During this process, new varieties and coffee preparation techniques were introduced. Currently, the 22 ha farm has more than 5 varieties of coffee and prepares these coffees according to 3 different processes, which results in a great diversity of sensory profiles. The coffee trees are shaded by lush flora and numerous avocado trees.
Due to the specialization of industrial engineer in mechanics, the producer Mario Alarcon Melendez wished to use his expertise in order to set up a more responsible production by reducing the use of water in the process of wet treatment of farm cafes.
Shipping Policy
- We deliver our products to all of UAE. Shipping will be done by a third-party courier (Emirates Post).
- All orders are processed within 1-3 business days, and orders are not shipped or delivered on weekends or holidays.
- Daily Cut-Off Time will be at 05:00 PM - Dubai Time. Orders placed after the cut-off time and/or on any UAE public holiday will be placed on the first day following the date the Order was submitted.
- UAE Delivery Fees will be mentioned on the checkout page. Free Delivery on Orders 150+ AED
- Orders of less than AED 150 will be charged AED 15 shipping fee (non-refundable) in case of any cancelation.
- Avoid any delivery delay by providing your full address and contact details.

- Cash on Delivery (COD) in UAE only with a maximum amount of 3,000 AED
